Natural History Group

The aims of this group are to promote and share members' interests in natural history.  This takes the form of outdoor visits and rambles, together with indoor meetings that concentrate on the varied interests of the group. Meetings are generally held on the 3rd Thursday of every month.

All visits and talks start at 10.30 unless specified otherwise. Indoor meetings are held in Room 2 at the Community Care Centre above the Library in the Stokesley Town Close complex.

We now have over 50 members but typical attendance is 20 to 25. Over the last year we have become more adventurous.  Twenty five members went to the Farne Islands and a similar number to upper Teesdale.  We have had some equally enjoyable days closer to home.  During the winter months we had excellent presentations by our members and outside speakers.

This winter we have arranged three meetings with outside speakers.  We have a busy summer programme with two meetings most months.
