Armchair Travel
Meetings of the Armchair Travel Group take place at 10.30 a.m. on the third Friday of every month, in the room in the Community Centre (above Stokesley Library in Town Close). There is a small charge to cover the hire of the room (£1) and tea/coffee (50p).
Discussions centre on a monthly topic, but can be far ranging!
Please feel free to come along and take part, even if you haven’t visited any destination being discussed. Research into the history and culture of the area will be very welcome.
Upcoming meetings
| Friday 16th December | Your favourite holiday destination both in Britain and in the rest of the world. One rural and one urban destination allowed for each area. |
| Friday 20th January | Stokesley U3A in Paris |
| Friday 17th February | United States National Parks |
| Friday 16th March | Botswana Wildlife |
In addition, we are intending to discuss other related travel issues at some of our meetings e.g. the impact of travel on the environment, local cultures, etc.
